Start today

Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) goes by many names:  Clinical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Technology, Medical Device Cybersecurity, and many more. You can be HTM.

What we do

We work on medical equipment. Different people do different things. Here's a few things people do:

Repair, calibration, and verification

Teaching device users

Risk assessment, risk management

Cybersecurity assessments, device hardening

Managing databases

Print custom 3D parts

Sell unneeded equipment to keep costs low

How to do it

Many people interested in HTM already have a lot of the skills they already need. People with mechanical, electrical, and/or computer skills can usually get started right away while attending school to get fully prepared.

Some positions that are available for beginners:

CE-Tech's Biomedical Associate position

Mayo and Trimedx have non-degree-holding positions and apprenticeships

While working in or near the field, you can go to school.

FSCJ is in Jacksonville and has an A.S. Biomedical Equipment Technician program.

Some students get Bachelor's degrees or beyond. More advanced degrees can move your career to research and design and management.
